About ENCA | Ethiopian National Coffee Association

Ethiopian National Coffee Association (ENCA) was established in 2022 by 5 Regional Coffee supplier Associations, women’s in Coffee and Growers Association in Ethiopia. ENCA is a non-profit making and strive to promote Ethiopian Coffee in the international market. It is representing a major coffee suppliers, small holder coffee farmers , women’s , Growers and processors’.

ENCA currently has a members of 3011 coffee suppliers, 64 womens in coffee , 96 coffee growers.

ENCA team up with The Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCA), , Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority, , and the African Fine Coffee Association are all affiliates (AFCA). the Association intends to break the gaps with in coffee value chain and to maximize the volume of coffee produced and exported on the worldwide market. As a result, ENCA has established the following VISION, and MISSION

COFFEE ARABICA ORIGINATED IN ETHIOPIA WHICH ARE UNIQUE IN THE WORLD BECAUSE OF ITS FLAVOUR AND AROMA

  1. Harar Coffee
  2. This is produced in the Eastern Highlands. The bean is medium in size with a greenish -yellowish colour.It has medium acidity and full body, and a distinctive mocha flavour.

  3. Wollega (Naqamte) Coffee brow:-
  4. This is produced in Western Ethiopia and the medium to bold bean is mainly known for as fruity taste ‘ It has a greenish color with good acidity and body.

  5. Limu Coffee ( BB & IAB) :-
  6. This is known for its spicy and winey flavour and attracts many roasters especialy in Europe and the USA . It has good acidity and body and the washed limu is one of the premium coffees . it has a medium sized bean and greenish blush in color and mostly round on shape.

  7. Sidama Coffee ( Including Bale and West Arsi coffee):-
  8. This has A medium sized bean , greenish -greyish in colour .Sidama washed coffee known for its balanced taste and good flavour called sweet coffee. It has fine acidity and good body and is produced in the southern part of the country.

  9. Yirgachaffee( Including Guji coffee ) :-
  10. This has an intense flavor known as Flora. The washed yirgachaffee is one of the best highland grown coffees. It has fine acidity and rich body . Many roasters are attracted to its delicate fine flavor and are willing to pay a premium for it.
